If You’re Considering Getting Our Help, Please Start By Watching The Video Below
If you’re looking to begin strength training, it’s most likely because you’re looking to get stronger, build lean muscle, and gain confidence. Or, perhaps you’ve heard that strength training is the best thing you can do if you’re looking to lose weight.
But maybe you’ve had injuries in the past, don’t want to get hurt in the gym, or you’re just intimidated and not sure the best way to get started.
If that’s happening to you, you’re not alone – we hear this type of thing all the time.
We’ve helped hundreds of busy adults get stronger safely at our strength training gym in Lawrenceville. When it comes to using strength training to lose weight and get stronger, everyone wants to know:
Many people think that cardio is necessary for fat loss. But in reality, strength training is much more effective long term. If you’ve tried cardio and dieting and didn’t make the progress you wanted, there is hope! If you have tried getting stronger and did a bunch of machine based exercises or light dumbbell things, without being taught perfect form or given a customized program, then you’ve had what we call a “typical strength training experience.”
Sadly, this describes the training most of our clients have received before coming to see us.
But then several weeks later, they end up stopping because they aren’t seeing progress and don’t feel any stronger or different.
Another scenario we see all the time at our strength training gym in Mercer County is when people dive into strength training without proper form.
But rarely is this the best thing to do, and it usually leads to injury.
They end up having to stop, go to the doctor, and end up feeling way more discouraged than they ever wanted.
We understand it can be frustrating when you have the motivation to improve yourself and can’t quite get to where you want to be.
If any of these sounds like your story, we would love to help you by inviting you to book a call to talk with one of our performance coaches to find out what can be done to help you. The fact that you’ve tried any or all of these things already is actually a GOOD THING because when you know what doesn’t work, you are closer to finding the thing that does!
Make A Commitment To Getting Help: First off, you need to make a decision about getting help. So many people delay getting help because they say “not is not a good time” or “I’ll go to the gym on my own tomorrow” , but then 6 months later they’re still not where they want to be, and nothing’s changed.
Learn How To Move: If you’ve tried strength training or cardio classes before and either didn’t make progress or got injured, the reason is a lack of proper movement patterns. By working with a great coach who can teach you how to perform each exercise properly, you set the foundation for unlimited strength and muscle gains, as well as ensure you don’t get hurt this time.
Avoid Doing Too Much Cardio: We know it can be tempting to feel like you have to do hours of cardio to lose weight, but a proper strength training program with minimal amounts of cardio is the best thing you can do to improve your body composition. You’ll feel stronger, look more toned, and will be able to enjoy your gym routine much more!
Get A Real, Customized Strength Training Program: If you’ve tried working out on your own or with another trainer and didn’t make progress, you probably didn’t have a proper strength training program. Without one, you’re just spinning your wheels, hoping to get better. Our coaches will write a world class, customized program for you based off your goals, movement quality, injury history, and fitness experience to ensure you maximize every second you spend in the gym.
